Meet Dr. Ricardo F. Roca, MD

Dr. Ricardo F. Roca, MD, is a compassionate and highly skilled healthcare provider fluent in both English and Spanish. A proud native of Brownsville, Texas, he began his academic journey at the University of Texas at Brownsville, earning his undergraduate degree before continuing his medical education at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. Dr. Roca further refined his clinical expertise through training and internships at New York Medical College and HIMA San Pablo Hospital. To strengthen his leadership and management skills, he earned an MBA with a focus on Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix.

With experience in both acute and chronic healthcare, Dr. Roca specializes in correctional medicine, a field that addresses the complex medical needs of incarcerated individuals. His work spans the management of chronic conditions, mental health care, and urgent medical issues. Dr. Roca’s expertise in correctional medicine intersects with urgent care principles, focusing on the timely assessment and treatment of medical conditions in high-pressure environments.

As a fellow of the American College of Correctional Physicians and certified by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, Dr. Roca applies his unique skills to enhance the quality of urgent care. In his role as Clinical Director for the Department of Justice, he combines strategic leadership with direct care to ensure timely and effective treatment for those under his care.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Roca is an avid sports fan, enjoys barbecuing with friends and family, and values time spent traveling to his hometown with his beloved wife and children.
